Rockfish 03:51
Rising Tide 12:42

Written and recorded January 15, 2015

VLG went into Frogg Mountain to jam out some ideas for their 3rd LP. Forbes was i the studio tuning an electric piano with a ball peen and a blowtorch. The band didn't wanna kick him out (he's our buddy) so we invited him to sit in. In the end we had 8 songs written on the spot inn less than an hour and a half.

Velcro and Forbes went in and overdubbed some absurdity and made it a complete album.
We used every part of the buffalo on this one.

The process:
Most of these songs were given a little direction before we hit record.
"Play it like a rubbery swamp, then get heavy and anxious, like a flood. Oh, and play it in B." Rising Tide.
"Let's make this one sound like the Rockford Files. End in a car crash. Keep that Dennis Coffey tone, dude. What key you wanna do? C? Okay, everyone... Rockford in C!"

You'll notice how much of a genius Hawk is on this album. All of his vocals/lyrics are completely spontaneous. We don't know how he can spout such gold while drumming and singing the way he does. Basically, Velcro is downplayed to the comic relief on this one.

"2 Sidecars No Driver" is the only song where the lead vocals were overdubbed. But still, that shit was made up in one take, obviously. just Velcro being an old crazy man.

If you want to hear the bonus track, "It's All Right", you'll have to find the cd-r we were selling at PRF BBQ 2015....
